founded=Berkshire Park Elementary is a public elementary school that officially opened on March 21st 1989 in School District 36 on 15372 94 Avenue in Surrey BC. The school expanded in 2000 when a new wing was added. At present, there are 427 students from Kindergarten through grade 7, 27 teachers, as well as many other specialized staff. It is one of only 2 schools in Surrey that has the MACC (Multi-age Cluster Class) which is a program that focuses on gifted students from grades 5 to 7. 40% of the student population at Berkshire Park is ESL and therefore the school provides an excellent ESL program and has a full time ESL kindergarten. To add to the already diverse student population of the school, Berkshire Park recently welcomed 14 international students. In addition to MACC, Berkshire Park offers counselling, a great library and programs in the fields of music and French as well as aboriginal and student development. The parents and guardians of students who attend Berkshire Park are highly encouraged to take part in their child’s educational experience by joining the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and attending monthly meetings. In addition to the PAC, there is a School Planning Council which consists of three elected parents, one elected teacher, and the Principal, Mr. Morelli. The purpose of the council is to collaborate the ideas of staff and parents about further developing a school plan which focuses on student achievement.
