Outline
First Season
The nemesis of Setsuna and Lockon and a primary villain in the series. Ali Al-Saachez is the man whose voice recording was being broadcasted across the Kurdish battlefield in the events leading up to the appearance of the O Gundam in AD 2301. He was also responsible for ordering several attacks all over the world (including the one which victimized Lockon's parents and sister) as the leader of KPSA, a terrorist organization.
At the time of his first appearance in episode 6, Saarchez was a top field officer under the private military contractor known as the PMC Trust. In the course of Celestial Being's armed intervention in Moralia, Ali surprises Setsuna who seemed to recognize both his voice and movements from time he was a child soldier. In an attempt to confirm his suspicions, Setsuna orders Ali to get out of his cockpit. Before both pilots' indentities could be revealed, though, Lockon intervened and forced Saachez to retreat.
After the Moralia incident, Ali was involved in the kidnapping of Azadistan's Massoud Rachmadi. Acting on a hunch, Setsuna heads for Saachez's hiding place, which he remembered from his childhood. There, the two pilots exchange blows and Exia manages to damage Ali's custom Enact.
In the past, Saachez attempted to create a group of freedom fighters and convinced young children that they were fighting in the name of God. It is made clear in the same episode that Saachez commanded children to murder their own parents as proof of faith and devotion [ "See Episode 7: Unrepayable Soul"] . Thus Setsuna's hatred towards him is due to the fact that Saachez influenced him to murder his parents. ]Hoping to pay him back for his humiliation, Ali attacks Setsuna in the Taklamakan Desert, this time using the mobile armour Agrissa. Exhausted after over 15 hours of constant fighting against almost 1,000 mobile suit units from the AEU, Union and the Human Reform League, Exia is overpowered by Ali's Agrissa, whose plasma field would have killed Setsuna had it not been for Nena Trinity's appearance.
Saarchez also worked for Laguna Harvey of Linear Train Industries, who was being investigated by JNN reporter Kinue Crossroad. After Saarchez meets with Laguna (he requested a GN Drive Tau for his mobile suit), Kinue approaches him and he agrees to talk to her. Under the pretext he had important matters to attend to, he persuades Kinue to talk with him inside his car. The two talk for a while and Saarchez reveals not just the nature of the parts that had just been delivered to Linear Train industries, but also the fact he had been the one to kidnap, brainwash and turn Setsuna into a child soldier. "The lowest and worst type of human who lives and dies amongst the primitive impulses of Mankind."
, Setsuna's Gundam manages to beat Ali. Nevertheless, he successfully retreats from the battlefield to fight another day.
Later, Saachez, under his alternate identity, joins the UN assault force attack on the Meisters. True to his nature (despite his superb skills as a mobile suit pilot capable to fighting superior units with a mere Enact mobile suit, Ali often prefers to obtain an advantage beforehand), he does not charge headlong into the conflict like the rest of the UN Army. Instead he hangs back, only moving in to engage the Gundams with Throne Zwei when they are distracted or overwhelmed. He finds Lockon destroying the carrier ships with his GN Arms and is able to destroy it. Saachez and Lockon engage in a vicious close-range battle. Saachez realizes that Lockon cannot see on his right side after Daryl Dodge interrupts their duel to attempt to avenge his fallen comrades. Using Zwei's GN Fangs, Saachez is able to severely cripple Dynames, forcing a retreat into an asteroid field. As Saachez searches for Dynames, Lockon, who has exited the suit, targets Zwei using one of the GN Cannons from his destroyed GN Arms. Saachez spots Lockon and charges at him after a heat signature is detected by his unit. While Saachez fires a shot from Throne Zwei's GN Handgun to critically damage the GN Cannon, Lockon fires a shot from the GN Cannon that destroys Throne Zwei.
Ali Al Saachez survived the Zwei's explosion through unknown means. Four years later, he is seen with a drink in hand and seems to be frustrated, most likely about the union of the world via the newly-formed Earth Sphere Federation and its dissolving of each member nation's armies, replacing each with an Earth Sphere Federation peacekeeping army. Because of such, more or less, war is no longer necessary thus destroying his main source of income and livelihood.
econd Season
In an opening sequence for season 2, Ali returns to make more trouble for the Gundams in a new Mobile Suit sporting a red and white paint scheme with unusually-shaped arms and what appears to be a chest cannon mounted into the torso. This mysterious unit bears similarities to Throne Zwei, primarily through the GN Drive and its red particles. Whether the suit is a reformation of the Throne model or a new MS entirely remains to be seen. It also appears that Ali is in the A-LAWS, as he is shown flying alongside Patrick Colasour, who is in a GN-X III model with an A-LAWS paint scheme, in the ending of the first episode. It is possible that he joined the organization just to wage combat in the face of the dissolution of the armies of the Earth Sphere Federation members four years prior to the second season.
