Emily Eavis

Emily Eavis (born 1979) is the youngest daughter of Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis, and his second wife Jean.

Eavis was educated at Wells Cathedral School, and embarked on training as a school teacher (like her grandmother). When her mother died of cancer in 1999, Eavis left her teaching studies to help her father run the festival.

From 2000 onwards, she has taken an increasing role in the organisation of the Glastonbury Festival. She has worked for Oxfam helping out with their "Make Trade Fair" campaign. As part of the "Make Trade Fair" campaign she visited South America with Coldplay lead vocalist Chris Martin to publicise the negative impact of western corporations' trade practises upon coffee farmers.

At the 2007 festival, Eavis curated her own stage called The Park. Acts that performed there included Kate Nash, Martha Wainwright, Africa Express and Adele. The Park returned in 2008, headlined by Dizzee Rascal, Pete Doherty and Shlomo.
