She founded the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Mary, Help of Christians and was a missionary in Ecuador. Eventually, her congregation had houses in Colombia, Austria, and Brazil.
She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 29, 1995 and was canonized on October 12, 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI.
