- B. Andreas Bull-Hansen
Bjørn Andreas Bull-Hansen (born
August 18 ,1972 ) is a Norwegianfantasy writer and former championship powerlifter.Born in
Oslo , Bull-Hansen decided to become a writer when an automobile accident onDecember 22 ,1995 left him injured and unable to continue as a professional powerlifter. He had previously won several prizes in the sport, including twogold medal s in the Norwegian Powerlifting Championship, abronze medal in the European Championship, and fifth place in the world. The accident also put a halt to his studies, a Bachelor's degree in commerce. With all his plans snatched away, he decided to finish a manuscript he'd been working on on and off for six years. This became his debut novel, "Syv historier fra Vestskogen " (Seven Tales of the Western Forest), published in 1997, when Bull-Hansen was 24 years old. He has since written at least one book per year.Bull-Hansen is known best for his six-part fantasy series, which are somewhat a product of his debut novel, "
Horngudens Tale " (The Speech of the Horned God, hereafter SHG), published from 1997 to 2002. Though the bulk of his work is labeled as fantasy and has the characteristics of fantasy fiction, Bull-Hansen himself does not think of himself as a fantasy author, as he feels it is too restricting to consciously writegenre fiction .Published works
