Career
Home and Away
He is best known for his long-running role as Headmaster/Deputy Mr Donald Fisher,[1][2] and states that he portrayed the character straight and as a complete opposite to himself ,he was also one of the original cast members in the Seven Network soap opera Home and Away in 1988. Coburn left the series after a lengthy 15 year run in 2003, (although he has made many guest appearances), for which he was featured in the Guinness world records as the longest serving actor in an Australian serial, along with co-stars Ray Meagher and Kate Ritchie. He has returned in consecutive guest appearances, the last being in 2007. His daughter is actress and former cast member Nana Coburn.
Other roles
He also appeared briefly as Fred Sykes in the Seven Network soap opera Sons and Daughters. Norman left Home and Away with Rowena Wallace who played wife June Reynolds after being on the serial for fifteen years. Norman has also had guest appearances in The Young Doctors, Special Squad and A Country Practice.
Personal life
He originally resided in Sydney, and later Perth Western Australia.
