Cavaticovelia aaa is a Hawaiian true bug (order Hemiptera), or more precisely, a troglobitic water treader (superfamily Mesovelioidea) of the monotypic genus "Cavaticovelia".

Its specific name the only non-obsolete English word (as opposed to an abbreviation or acronym) that consists of solely three times the letter "a". Due to this peculiarity, though vernacular names for water treader species are rarely given this species is an exception: it is commonly known as Aaa Water Treader. The name probably derives from ʻaʻā (pronounced "a-aah") lava, in which the caves where it lives in are found.
