Vera Brosgol

Vera Brosgol

Vera Brosgol (born August 1984 in Russia) is a cartoonist and a graduate in Classical Animation of Sheridan College in Canada. She lives in Portland, Oregon and works for Laika Entertainment House where she does storyboards and concept art for their animation productions. Her story "I wish..." was considered a highlight of the first Flight Anthology,Raiteri, Steve (January 15 2005). "Flight: Vol. 1". "Library Journal Reviews", Pg. 88] and she has also created the long-since-abandoned webcomic "Return to Sender".

Recognition

In 2005, the Friends of Lulu gave Brosgol the Kim Yale award as that year's most promising new female talent. This award was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con. [cite web

In January 2007, the Film Society of Portland announced Brosgol as the winner of their (2006) 3rd Annual Far From Hollywood Film Society's "Best Animated Film by a NW Filmmaker" for "Sno-bo." [cite web
