Syed Zafar Ali Shah is a prominent politician of Pakistan and is associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party. Currently he is a Member of the National Assembly, winning in the 2008 general elections, from his constituency in Sindh, a province which forms the core strength of the PPP and is also the home province of late Benazir Bhutto. He contests elections from the NA-212 Naushahro Feroze-II constituency, from where he has won in numerous elections.

Political career

Syed Zafar Ali Shah was elected MPA Sindh in 1962 and 1969 and MNA in 1985, 1988, 1990, 1993, 2002 and 2008. He has held the position of Deputy Speaker, Sindh Assembly, in 1962 and Provincial Minister for Food, Forests, Livestocks and Fisheries, Sindh, in 1984. He has also held the position of National Assembly Deputy Speaker in 1993, Federal Minister of State for Water and Power in 1989 and Federal Minister for Industries, Food, Agriculture and Livestock in 1985.He currently heads the Ethics Commitee of the National Assembly.

Education and travel

He graduated with M.A and LL.B degrees. Syed Zafar Ali Shah has visited Saudi Arabia, Sweden, U.S.A, Japan, U.K, Germany and Italy.
