Paindivision is an Australian Metal band. In late 2005 Guitarist Stu Marshall, former lead guitar for metal band Dungeon and writer for "Guitarist Australia magazine", founded Sydney based Metal band Paindivision, originally with dungeon's Tim Yatras on drums. The name was changed to 20 Grams before their first gig. Dungeon disbanded Shortly afterwards. Marshall finalised the 20 Grams line-up by mid-2006 with Shane (tank) Reid (bass), Ray Martens (keyboards) and one of Sydney's most sort after session drummers, Joe Rahme. With singer Mark Probin they recorded a few songs and supported Ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach. Mark was replaced by vocalist Jordan Howe, former frontman of the infamous Sydney hard rock outfit The Harlots. Jordan brought a much heavier vocal sound and street wise swagger to the band. The band reverted back to the original name of Paindivision. Late 2006 saw the band released the EP '4 Play'.

Paindivision - Paindivision

Production of the debut album saw Marshall's wealth of recording experience take on the production role and bringing in the fine ear and knowledge of young producer Dan Quinlan to help with the mixing. After the October 2007 release of the self titled debut album Quinlan joined the band on a permanent basis taking on bass player duties. The mixture of these seasoned professionals is nothing short of an intricate and powerful rollercoaster ride of heavy metal at it's finest. The album opens with the crowd pleasing riffs of 'Welcome to the show' followed by the first single off the album 'Evilize'. 'Unchain me' and 'Everyman' stand out as good hard rocking Aussie metal at it's best, fast and furious music with balls. The ballard 'Anything we want' shows off the melodic talents and diversity of Paindivision. Devils preacher rolls out with a heavy riff and a cutting solo. Next up is the mood setting chant of American Indians leading into the heavy build-up intro of 'Indian Sun', Howe's powerful vocals and Marshall's mastery of the fretboard make this song an instant classic. 'Faces of Death' brings a modern heavy sound to deliver a message of modern times. 'Northner Grove' brings the pace way back with a tasteful instrumental acoustic piece by Marshall. The album is finished off with a cover of heavy metal giant motorhead 'Ace of Spades'

Live

Paindivision have opened for such heavy metal legends as Zakk Wylde, Sebastian Bach and Germany's own Helloween, carving out a reputation as a live heavy metal act not to be missed. With a sound rooted in traditional metal, Paindivision put on a hard hitting performance reminiscent of early WASP, Accept and Van Halen. Regular airplay and national screening of the band’s latest video for the song ‘Evilize’ has cemented Paindivision’s reputation for a powerful and unique sound wave in an ocean of bands that are clones of each other. This is no hardcore emo band, this is Metal!

Pain Across Japan

Late 2007 saw Paindisivion boldly embark on a headlining tour of Japan. The "Pain across Japan tour" included nine explosive shows in fourteen days, playing all the major cities in Japan. The shows heralded the band critical acclaim by radio stations and mainstream press through out Japan.

The live tour DVD is due for release in mid 2008.
