20 June 1925 ) was anAnglican Suffragan Bishop who served in twoDiocese s between 1975 and 1991. Educated atBede College andClare College, Cambridge [Who’s Who 2008 (London,A & C Black , 2008 ISBN 9780713672576] he studied for ordination atWestcott House, Cambridge before embarking on anecclesiastical career with a Curacy at "St John Newland", Hull. From 1970 he was Canon Residentiary andTreasurer ofYork Minster [Crockfords, (London, Church House 1975) ISBN 0108153674 ] before elevation five years later to be theBishop of Hulme .
