Long Island ,New York , USA) is an artist who is popular indance music ,pop music and sometimesR&B as an accomplished BMI songwriter and vocalist and has had success on the dance charts with songs such as "I Am (the rising)" and "All I Gave To You". Practically all of her singles have reached the top 10 of the U.S. and InternationalHot Dance Club Play chart. Such singles include "Ride on the Rhythm", "My Love for You" and "I’ve Got To Have You".Early life
Born on
Long Island ,New York , USA as Taborah Annette Adams, Taborah began her talents at age 4 as she studied dance at the Venettes Cultural Workshop in Wyandanch, New York. Taborah attended the workshop for 14 years, during which time she also took charm class and voice lessons. At the request of Mrs. Mary Baird, the founder of the workshop, she entered and won many beauty contests becoming the first black Ms. Pre-Teen on Long Island, New York.Taborah was introduced to a variety of music and displayed her love of music and her vocal talents at an early age. Her grandmother played piano and sang for the USO Troops in Jacksonville, FL. and her father sang and traveled internationally with the acclaimed
Fisk Jubilee Singers of Fisk University in Nashville, TN.Taborah enjoyed such artist as
Gloria Lynn ,Luther Vandross andBarbara Streisand , whom she mimicked to help control her breathing and expanded her vocal range. These and other artist assisted Taborah into developing her own style.Career
Taborah began her career in Italy as the songwriter, face and vocalist of the group
Blackwood . She signed with an Italian label ACV Music and released three albums with them. Blackwood’s debut album "Ride on the Rhythm" (1992) was created withToni Verde , Marascia and Kortezman and it featured the hit single "I Feel You". In 1996 Blackwood re-released "Ride on the Rhythm" a dance song with the second album "In The City", which was a mixture of soul and pop music. Remixes included Alex Natale. The single charted number one inBillboards Hits of the World for 12 weeks and Blackwood was noted and respected in the dance community with such articles asBillboards "Acts Sent from Italy" (1997). Blackwood received the coveted FIMI Best Dance Act Award from the singles success. Production for the album included Fabio Parisella and theVan Morrison remake "Moondance".In 1997 Blackwood released their third album "I Am" under the label A&D Music and Vision, which included the single "My Love for You". Remixes included Stefano Noferini. Italy knew Taborah only as the face of Blackwood as she continued to write singles that lead the group to successFact|date=June 2008. "I Am" (the rising) was also the 2005 tip-off song for theWomen's National Basketball Association (WNBA)New York Liberty for both home and away games. In 2006 Taborah was awardedHeritage of Pride ’s "Dance Artist of the Year". "I Am" (the rising) has gone on to become an anthem at manyGay Pride events across America.Taborah’s follow up single on Catz Entertainment "All I Gave To You", was yet another Italian successFact|date=June 2008 written by Taborah and released in 2006. Productions include Joe Bermudez & Klubjumpers, John Rizzo & Barry Huffine, Giuseppe D, and Josh Harris. This single also received heavy rotation in the clubs and light rotation on radio. It also landed the Billboard Dance Club Chart.
In 2008, Taborah took the reins of her career and released her new single "You Gotta Go ‘Cause I’m Through With You", on her label Lah Lah Music. The remix is by an up and coming young producer from the UK named Reflex. The single received almost instant radio play and the phase "no sit down, I’m not done yet", has quickly become a favorite attitude one liner. This single has beaten out
