The A490 is a road in the United Kingdom running from Churchstoke, Powys to Llanfyllin, Powys. The road runs for a short distance through Shropshire.

The road starts in Churchstoke at a junction with the A489. From here it passes through Chirbury before crossing the A483 approximately 1 mile south of Welshpool. Here it runs through the town centre after runs on to Llanfyllin. It is a relatively short A road and terminates without connecting to any other A road just after passing through Llanfyllin.
