South Tyneside Youth Orchestra

South Tyneside Youth Orchestra, "STYO". Based in South Tyneside in the North East of England, this youth ensemble of 60+ is an amalgamation of some of the finest youth musicians of the local area. Frequently performing all over South Tyneside, South Tyneside Youth Orchestra, and other ensembles from South Tyneside Music Service were the first LEA Music Service to showcase talent at the then new Sage Gateshead. This lead on to annual concerts at the sage with all groups within the music service paying along with primary schools from the area lending their singing children to the occasion to form a 100 children strong choir. Led and Conducted by Ernest Young, Director of Music Service in South Tyneside.
