Sylvia Elisabeth Rodriguez (born March 5, 1995 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) immigrated to the United States when she was five years old. She arrived in Miami not speaking English but quickly learned in school, passing all five levels of the

She began riding at a local stable called Ledesma Equestrian Center where she learned the sport of showjumping.fact|date=March 2008She decided to use her gift for writing and reading to solve her problem.
