- Pearson Language Tests
Pearson Language Tests is a new unit of the
Pearson PLCgroup, dedicated to assessing and validating the English language usage of non-native English speakers. Pearson PLC (lse|PSON; nyse|PSO) is one of the largest education and media companies in the world and owns many education and publishing companies such as Longman, The Financial Times, Penguin Booksand Edexcel.
The tests and exams so far developed include the
London Tests of Englishand the London Tests of English for Children. These are scenario based exams, recently accredited by the QCAand administered in association with Edexcel, which is now the UK’s largest examining body.
Pearson Language Tests is currently undertaking field tests for a new academic test, the
Pearson Test of Englishoffered in collaboration with the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) . Due to be launched in 2009 they will be delivered through the Pearson VUEcentres which are also responsible for delivering the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) worldwide.
