- Pearson Language Tests
Pearson Language Tests is a new unit of the
Pearson PLC group, dedicated to assessing and validating the English language usage of non-native English speakers. Pearson PLC (lse|PSON; nyse|PSO) is one of the largest education and media companies in the world and owns many education and publishing companies such asLongman ,The Financial Times ,Penguin Books andEdexcel .The tests and exams so far developed include the
London Tests of English and theLondon Tests of English for Children . These are scenario based exams, recently accredited by theQCA and administered in association withEdexcel , which is now theUK ’s largest examining body.Pearson Language Tests is currently undertaking field tests for a new academic test, the
Pearson Test of English offered in collaboration with the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) . Due to be launched in 2009 they will be delivered through thePearson VUE centres which are also responsible for delivering the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) worldwide.See also
