World Jewelry Center

The World Jewelry Center in Las Vegas, Nevada is intended to be a "one-stop shop" [ [http://www.worldjewelrycenter.com/officetower.php World Jewelry Center ] ] for the world's jewelry industry and when completed will be the second-tallest building in Las Vegas.

Located across from the World Market Center as part of the Union Park development, the World Jewelry Center will consist of one million square feet of mixed-use space [ [http://www.worldjewelrycenter.com/overview.php World Jewelry Center ] ] . Firms that include manufacturers, designers and retailers will use the space as sales and distribution offices, headquarters, light manufacturing, service and residences. The site will also include a large retail center and a world-class museum.

The complex will consist of a main, skyscraper office building and a multi-story parking structure with space for 2,778 cars [http://www5.lasvegasnevada.gov/sirepub/cache/2/42zi0f55fxyf3azbxtoep5bl/99216403272008104513736.PDF]

While consisting of 57 floors, the office tower will actually be 815 feet (248 m) because of the need for high ceilings on some floors, making it second only to the Stratosphere for height in Las Vegas [http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/trade_centers.htm Vegas World Centers ] ] .

Construction is set to begin sometime in 2008 with expected completion in mid-2010.
