Grandview Park is a

Started in 1907 and completed a year later, Grandview Park instigated over twenty years of large growth in Sioux City parks. Mose Reed’s Band played at the dedication and began a tradition of summertime musical events that continue to the present.
Bandshell
Grandview Park's Municipal Bandshell] was constructed in 1930 with funds from the
Civil Works Administration and was designed by local architectHenry L. Kamphoefner . The reinforced concrete structure has received praise in an international architectural competition. In May 1935, the bandshell was dedicated with great fanfare and has served as the site of numerous summer festivities, includingSaturday in the Park . Acts that have performed in Grandview Park include The Monahan Post Band and later the Sioux City Municipal Band as well as many other bands, including acts who come for the annual music festival. Begun in 1937, the rose garden was developed and maintained under the direction of the Sioux City Municipal Rose Garden Association and was designed by Newell F. Guernsey. The Rose Garden is considered a historic landmark complete with backdrops for weddings, concerts, and special events. In the summer of 2002 the Rose Garden was renovated back to its original design.
