He soon joined Madras FM as a radio Jockey where he earned a pet name-flavour boy and a huge fan-following. In 1996 he won the
MTV VJ Contest.With his trademark silver rings on all fingers and even his thumbs, Chinnappa is a completely outdoors person. He loves to trek and sky dive. He has also acted in a film 'Snip' with Sophia Haque and created ripples for some rather outrageous scenes with the leading lady.
