Health fair

Health fair

A health fair is an event designed for outreach to provide basic preventive medicine and medical screening to people who otherwise would not receive it. It is a public health intervention.

It is offered at a location in the community, instead of inside a hospital or doctor's office. It is advertised and promoted ahead of time by print media, radio, or television. It is usually a one-day event. Health fairs are often run by medical students or nurses. Typical services offered at health fairs include blood pressure checks and cholesterol screening.

One example of a health fair is the Florida Keys Health Fairs.
