Butane torch

Butane torch

A butane torch is a tool for burning the flammable gas butane.

The maximum adiabatic flame temperature a butane torch can achieve with
air is 2243 kelvin (1970 °C / 3578 °F).

Consumer air butane torches are often claimed to develop flame temperatures up to "approximately" 1700 kelvin ("approximately" 1400 °C / "approximately" 2500 °F).

Butane torches are frequently employed as Kitchen gadgets to caramelise sugar in cooking.
