The Gateway Arena is a 10,000 seat multi-purpose
arena in the Tyson Events Center inSioux City, Iowa ,USA . The arena opened in2003 . It is home to theSioux City Bandits , a professionalindoor football team. They are a member of theUnited Indoor Football . It is also home to theSioux City Musketeers Ice hockey team , NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament, NAIA Wrestling National Tournament, and NAIA Women's Volleyball National Tournament. It is also connected to the Long Lines Family Recreation Center formerly the Sioux City Auditorium.The site has hosted World Wrestling Entertainment for a televised SmackDown on May 17, 2005, and two televised WWE Raw programs on July 10, 2006 and February 5, 2007. To date it has only hosted only other WWE event that was not televised and that was on September 25, 2004. It has also hosted numerous singers including; Alan Jackson, Taylor Swift, Trace Atkins, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, and Nickelback. The "Gateway Arena" is also expecting to host Neal Diamond July 22, 2008 and Carrie Underwood on September 28, 2008. This venue has also hosted comedian Larry "The Cable Guy" on two different occasions. President George W. Bush has also visited here to speak on his re-election campaign in 2004.
