Wondolowski was signed to a developmental contract in September 2007 after graduating from the
University of California, Santa Cruz . As a four-year starter, he helped lead his team to four consecutive NCAA playoff appearances, including a trip to the 2004 finals vs. Messiah College. Wondolowski earned NCAA Division III Final Four All-Tournament Team honors as a sophomore, as well as three straight D-III All-Independent Team selections (2004-2006). He played high school soccer at [De La Salle High School in Concord,
California , where he helped his team earn a North Coast section title in 2003.
