Griffith Borgeson (
December 21 ,1918 -June 29 ,1997 ) was an influential Americanrace car historian , described by theSociety of Automotive Engineers as "one of the world's preeminent automotive historians".His most well-known work, "The Golden Age of the American Racing Car", almost single-handedly rescued the memory of an entire era of brilliant race car work in the United States, an era whose memory was being lost.
Borgeson was editor-in-chief of "
Motor Trend " magazine; he also wrote for "Sports Car Illustrated " magazine (now "Car and Driver ").Bibliography
