The Schürmann-Bau is an office building in
Bonn , named after its architectJoachim Schürmann . The building houses the headquarters of theDeutsche Welle , after being originally planned for the members of parliament. The construction site was heavily damaged in spring 1993 by a flood of theRhine . With an estimated 700 million Euros, the building is one of the most expensive in germanys post-war history.Art
Since september 2004 a series of art objects by international artists can be found in the outside areas of the building. These include „Fest für Neptun“ by
Sokari Douglas Camp , „Ich und der Hahn - Hören und Sehen“ byBabak Saed and „Comunicación cruzada“ byManuel Marin .
