sports game for theWii developed byHB Studios and produced byTHQ .The game is a collection of sixsport s simulations, in which players compete on a beach resort location. The sports include:American football ,volleyball ,football ,bocce ,cricket anddisc golf . The games are not highly realistic simulations of the sports, but more orientated towards unrealistic physics, stylized beach scenarios, and a simplified rule set. It is most notable for being the thirdWii game (the first beingPokemon Battle Revolution and the second being ) to feature connectivity to theDS . Big Beach Sports also features the first Cricket game on the Wii. It was released onJune 24 ,2008 .DS to Wii Connectivity
The DS application downloads a small application from the
Wii and allows you draw your created character's face (eyes, ears, nose, mouth and eyebrows) and then upload it back from theDS to the theWii . Your character will then appear as you have drawn them in the game. This application does not require any DS game to be inserted into the Nintendo DSGameplay
All of the games allow up to 4 players playing at the same time, or in the case of Bocce and Disc Golf, taking alternate turns. All the games use the Wii Remote only, no games require the use of the Nunchuck or any other peripheral.
Once you have created your own character, you can play in tournaments where you compete against increasingly tougher opponents in the sport of your choosing. As you play more and more Quick Play games and Tournament games with your character you are awarded Skill Points towards your characters profile. These are then used to calculate the difficulty of the CPU opponent whenever you play a Quick Play match. Hence should you complete all tournaments for all the sports in Big Beach Sports, where each game has a preset difficulty, you can then return to Quick Play and continue to max out your Skill Points (999 points) for each of the six sports. However, in the case of most of the sports once you reach +900 Skill Points the difficulty becomes extremely challenging and the AI opponents much tougher to beat.
