Clarence "Teddy" Saunders (August 29, 1911May 21, 2002) was a retired professional ice hockey player who played 19 games in the National Hockey League with the Ottawa Senators in their final season of 1933–34. He played for the Ottawa Commandos which won the 1943 Allan Cup. At his death, he was last surviving member of the old Ottawa Senators. [Podnieks, pg. 762]

Personal life

Teddy Saunders was born on August 29, 1911, the youngest of nine children, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in Ottawa and played his minor hockey in Ottawa before turning professional. He joined the Canadian army for World War II and was trained as a dental technician. After the war, he settled in Ottawa and started a dental laboratory making crowns and dentures.
