Michael Patrick Redmond (born May 5, 1971 in Seattle, Washington) is a former Major League Baseball catcher.

Redmond graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School (Washington) in 1989. He attended Gonzaga University. Mike and his wife Michele (née Rowe) have two sons.

Redmond made his Major League debut with the Florida Marlins on May 31, 1998. He played with the Marlins through the 2004 season (including their 2003 World Series championship) and signed a two-year contract with the Twins before the 2005 season.

During the 2008 season, Redmond frequently joined Dan Gladden on the Twins Radio Network live broadcasts prior to the game to give his insight from the dugout. On May 28, 2009, Redmond was ejected in a game against the Red Sox after a furious reaction to a safe call at home plate. This was his first career ejection.

On January 15, 2010, Redmond signed a 1-year contract with the Cleveland Indians.^[1]

Among active catchers with at least 600 games played, going into the 2010 season Redmond was first with a .996 career fielding percentage, ahead of Joe Mauer (.996), A.J. Pierzynski (.995), and Brad Ausmus (.994).^[2]

Redmond was designated for assignment on July 10, 2010 to make room on the 40-man roster for catcher/outfielder Chris Gimenez. On July 16, 2010, Redmond was released after being designated for assignment.

Redmond retired on October 4, 2010.^[3] He is currently the manager of the Lansing Lugnuts, the affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
