- Stanley McKenzie
Matthew Stanley McKenzie (17 May 1890 — 8 December 1915) also known as Matthew McKenzie was an Australian
first-class cricket er andAustralian rules football er.A right-handed opening batsman, he played five first-class matches for Tasmania between 1910 and 1913.
He was recruited by Australia rules club Carlton in 1914, playing 14 VFL games, including a Preliminary Final, and kicking 6 goals.
McKenzie signed with the AIF as a medical orderly during the war (he was a Sergeant with the 1st Australian Clearing Hospital, First A.I.F.) and spent some time at Gallipoli before being moved to
Alexandria in Egypt. He sufferedappendicitis while in Egypt and lost his life.ee also
