Arc de Triomf railway station
- Arc de Triomf railway station
Arc de Triomf is an underground railway station in Eixample, Barcelona named after the adjacent triumphal arch of the same name. It's primarily served by Rodalies Barcelona commuter trains but also by a regional Renfe line. It was built in 1931 as the underground part of Estació del Nord and eventually replaced it [ [http://www.transport.cat/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6147 • Mostra el tema - L'estació del Nord-Arc de Triomf ] ] . Estació del Nord is a bus station nowadays. Passengers can commute here for the Barcelona Metro L1 station.
The station is located under Avinguda de Vilanova between Passeig de Lluís Companys and Carrer de Nàpols. As of 2008 it's undergoing reforms and is expected to be ready by the end of 2009. The new station's accesses will have a surface of 2200 and 3000 m² (current surface is of scarcely 160 and 300 m²) [ [http://www.20minutos.es/carta/333177/0/nova/triomf/arc/ La nova estació d’Arc de Triomf - 20minutos.es ] ] .
