Born in
Damascus ,Syria in 1976, Kinan studied at the Arab conservatory of music in Damascus withShukry Shawkey andNicolay Viovanof . He has appeared in performances with theSyrian National Symphony Orchestra during its first American tour (UCLA 'sRoyce Hall ,Orange County Performing Arts Center ,Los Angeles ,USA ) withSolhi Al-Wadi conducting,and by Zaid Jabri.Music
As
clarinetist , kinan performed under the baton of reputed conductors such asJohn Adams ,Roger Norrington ,Daniel Barenboim ,James DePriest ,Charles Dutoit ,Itzhak Perlman ,Julius Rudel ,Larry Rachleff ,Ahmad el-Saedi , andSolhi Al-Wadi . In addition to his interest inclassical music as a soloist, Chamber Musician and Orchestra member, he enjoys improvising on his clarinet and tenor Saxophone. He has appeared as soloist withSylvain Kassab ,Marcel Khalife ,Elliott Sharp ,Kani Karaca , and Hot house Jazz band, as well as being member of the New York-based NEOLEXICA group and the Syrian pop groupKulna Sawa .Works
Kinan co-started the ensemble
