The village (or
barangay ) Jaclupan, in Cebu province in thePhilippines , is bound by the City of Cebu on the northeast, Barangay Camp 4 on the northwest, BarangayTapul on the southwest, and BarangaysMaghaway ,Lagtang andCandulawan on the southeast. Based on the account of one of the most senior residents of this barangay, Jaclupan was made a barangay sometime in 1946. He relates that the name Jaclupan was derived from the word “hakopan”, which means a place where there was a lush growth of medicinal plants that were used by the local folks as well as those from neighboring areas.Jaclupan is one of the mountain barangays in the City. It is located in the watershed area and contains the MCWD weir dam. Abundant water is its biggest resource along with the Igotan Falls, which has drawn many visitors. Mangoes, vegetables, and bamboos are plentiful in this barangay.
