Due to an "industry wide battery shortage," MSI included free overnight delivery with the new July 7 ship date to those who pre-ordered. 2008-06-27 | accessdate=2008-06-27]On July 17 MSI informed all retailers that the estimated date for shipment is the 23rd of July.
On July 23 MSI stated that all Master Importer units have been delayed until the 28th of July, 2008 which affects all retailers in the U.S.
On July 28, most retailers will be receiving shipments by August 4. Most large retailers, however, have warehouses reporting thousands of back orders which could mean that many consumers may not get their hands on one until September or October 2008.
The Synaptics Touchpad (TouchPad V6.5) was dropped after the first batch and replaced with a touchpad by Sentelic. To add to the confusion about the unusual decision, said batch was shipped with Synaptic drivers. The Sentelic Touchpad has a "tap-to-scroll" feature which is accessed by continuously tapping a small spot in the right corners instead of the familiar finger-slide on the right side of the pad. The latest Sentelic touchpad drivers for Windows allow disabling of the "tap-to-scroll" feature.
Specifications
2 GB maximum memory.
