The first official trailer was released on the official Thorpe Park YouTube page on July 13, 2008 and it revealed that something would happen on August 13, 2008 which turned out to be the release date for another trailer. This time the trailer took the form of a mini-drama depicting the ride's construction crew discovering a red box on-site, opening it and apparently being extremely startled or even attacked by the contents; this emphasised the ride's 'horror' theme. In addition, the date of the next trailer was given as September 13, 2008. This trailer was a supposed 'statement' from Peter Ronchetti, the park's Divisional Director, in which Mr Ronchetti revealed that the box had in fact been a trap that had activated "a device". In addition, the box was said to contain a key, a picture of an "unknown individual" and a message saying that: "You have to the 13th of October to prepare yourself until I pull back the curtain and reveal the nightmare. Your time is running out." It is unknown what will be revealed on October 13 or indeed what the number 13 has to do with the ride (if anything).
