Thrakomakedones (Greek: Θρακομακεδόνες from Thrace and Macedonia), is a suburb in the northern part of Athens, Greece. The community is entirely surrounded by the Municipality of Acharnes. The Athenian plain lies to the east while the forests of Parnitha and the mountain of Parnitha is to the west. The mountains are situated to the north and northeast ; Thrakomakedones is located on a road linking Varympompi and the mountain including its telepherique (cable car), SE of Thiva, S of Euboea and Oropos, NW of Kifissia and GR-1/E75, N of Athens, and N of the Attiki Odos (number 6).

The area around Thrakomakedones is made up of residential and urban development. The farmlands are to be found around Thrakomakedones, while forests cover the rest of the area including the south, west and east, with a couple of bushes and grasslands. The street plan is circled in two, with a few layers of streets within the circle aligned mainly from east to west, and most of the population are urban ; until the 1960s and the 1970s, the majority of the population were farmers, after which suburban housing arrived most widely in the 1990s, and continues to this day. The Proastiakos line runs east of Thrakomakedones. On September 7, 1999, the September 1999 earthquake shook Thrakomakedones, causing damage to some homes ; one of the area's schools lost one of its three storeys. Several faultlines, including the Maliza Fault, are located around Thrakomakedones. In 2003, residents protested against a road, with lawyers representing 26 people against the plan ; in August 2004, a new stadium for AEK was planned for Thrakomakedones, but Thrakomakedones is not part of the AEK area - its soccer team is Akratitos. Nevertheless, the new unplanned stadium was located near the Olympic Village. The area has a few schools, lyceums, a gymnasium, banks, a post office and a few squares ("plateies").
