It is perhaps best known for being largely responsible for the technology behind Singapore's water recycling plants, whose output has been named ""NEWater", water made from filtered and treated waste.Hyflux technologies are based in the use of
Semipermeable membranes andreverse osmosis and are capable of extracting potable water from residual, seweage and salt waters. Consumer products like water dispensers that extract humidity from the air, tap filters and water pitchers are also available.A little more than a decade after its creation, Hyflux Ltd, became the first water treatment system company to be listed on SESDAQ in January
2001 . In April2003 , it was upgraded to the Singapore Exchange’s mainboard, again making history as the first water treatment company to be listed on the mainboard.
