Belgrave, Tamworth

Belgrave is an area of Tamworth, Staffordshire, roughly 2.5km from the town centre.

Starting life as a mining village, Belgrave had its own colliery up until the late 19th century. The area was considerably expanded in the 1970's with the addition of 2 new housing estates, with only central Belgrave keeping much of any community spirit.

Belgrave has good transport links, with the M42 and A5 (Watling street) just minutes away.

The area also has a pub and a club. These are The Mercian at Exeley centre, and Belgrave Sports and Social Club which hosts regular bingo, private parties, and quality live acts from around the country. (Artists to have played there include Ruby Murray and The Drifters).
