John Charles Lucas [Buster] (
February 10 ,1903 -April 16 ,1932 ) was a backupoutfielder who played briefly for theBoston Red Sox in the 1931-32 seasons. Listed at 5' 10", 186 lb., Lucas battedright-handed and threwleft-handed . He was born inGlen Carbon, Illinois .Little is known about this LF/CF who played on a Red Sox uniform with few stars. The team finished 62-90 in 1931 and 43-111 in 1933. Only 533,125 fans came to see them play at
Fenway Park that seasons. In a four-game career, Lucas went hitless in threeat-bat s. He did not have fielding chances in two outfield appearances.Lucas died in
Maryville, Illinois at age 29.Right and left
