Opening in 1976, it was one of the top 10 largest malls in the world and still remains the largest mall in the state of Louisiana. It is currently owned and managed by Mall Properties.
Anchor tenants
- Dillard's (237,000 sq ft) – Was Goudchaux's, then Maison Blanche until Dillard's purchase of Mercantile Stores in 1998.
- Steve and Barry's (90,000 sq. ft.) – Originally H.J. Wilson Catalog Showroom/Service Merchandise. Now Virginia College.
- J. C. Penney (200,000 sq. ft.)
- Macy's (238,000 sq. ft.) – Original Dillard's location, relocated to Maison Blanche location in 1998 after Dillard's purchase of Mercantile Stores. The location was sold to Saks, Inc. and became Parisian in 1998 and McRae's in 1999. Saks sold the location to May Department Stores and it became Foley's in 2001 and renamed Macy's in 2006 after Federated Department Stores' purchase of May in 2005.
