Touro University College of Medicine
- Touro University College of Medicine
Touro University College of Medicine is a traditional medical school (MD) based out of Hackensack, New Jersey and the first private medical school in the state. Its hospital affiliate is Hackensack University Medical Center. The school was established in 2007, and is hoping to admit its first class for the Fall of 2010 at the location of the former Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, New Jersey in Bergen County, New Jersey. The school is currently undergoing accreditation review by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), and needs its "preliminary accreditation" — the third step of the five-step process towards full approval — in order to be allowed to advertise and recruit students.
