Profile

Elenore is Margaret's private maidservant and childhood friend, her family has served the Burtons for generation. Elenore's grandfather died of illness, he asked her to devoted her life to protect and serve the clumsy Margaret. Her devotion and persistence helped her to graduate from school years ahead of the rest and later, become an expert in hand to hand combat. She personally takes care of Margaret's everyday social activities (preparing brekfast, combing her hair...). She often shows a dislike act to Carrossea Doon.

Role

At the beginning of the series, Elenore is shown living peacefully with Margaret and Vanessa, but her happy days come to an end when Secondari enter into their life. Elenore cares deeply about her master. She considers it her job to protect her and wishes that she could stay with Margaret forever, so eventually she accompanied Margaret to Gazth-Sonika as she would never leave her master's side.

As soon as the pair arrive, they search informations to seek Vanessa. They encounter Madlax while fighting Nahkl, and are reunited with Vanessa. Later, the four travel to Quanzitta Marison's village to search for information about the Holy Books, Quanzitta tells them about the books and gives Margaret "Thirstari" which she uses to open the "Door". Elenore quickly learns about this and tries to enter the "Sanctuary" but since she does not have the Gift, she stays behind.

After Margaret is abducted by Friday Monday, Elenore, along with Vanessa and Madlax, set off to look for Margaret. Eventually, Madlax ends up fighting Limelda, which later leads to Vanessa's death. Elenore then found Vanessa's body and buried her, and Madlax explained everything to her. Along with Nahkl, she accompanies Madlax and heads to Enfant headquarters to rescue Margaret. Despite fearing the horrors of the war zone, she even picks up a gun to fight.

When Madlax heads to face Gazth-Sonikan armies alone, she asks to take action on her own, and Elenore is watched over by Nahkl. During the search, she was attacked by a group of soldiers; despite using some of her skills, Elenore could not take a human life because she fears what Margaret would think of her if she does so. She ran away and was shot on her back causing her to fell off the cliff.

Though fatally wound, Elenore manages to reach her master; unfortunately, Margaret's mind is still under Monday's control and doesn't recognize her. Monday appears, and tells Margaret to use the "Word of Awakening" on her. Getting herself confused, Elenore points her gun at Friday Monday and reminds Margaret of their previous days. Margaret finally remembers her, as she starts to join her hands with Elenore's, she falls down before she could reach her master's hands. Elenore dies because of blood loss.

Last word: "Miss Margaret, you are my... family."
