nihongo|Friday Monday|フライデー・マンデー|Furaidē Mandē is a fictional character and the main antagonists of the 26-episode anime "Madlax" created by Bee Train studio. He is voiced by Masashi Ebara in the Japanese version and by Mike Kleinhenz in the English version.

Background

Friday Monday is the founder and leader of "Enfant" ("Child" in French), an informational criminal organisation. Little is known about him except he triggered the Gazth-Sonika civil war in order to complete his goal and he once attempted to use the powers of the Three Holy Books to open the "Door of Truth" and plunge the word into a global war. His plan was prevented by General Richard Burton, who he addresses as Madlax and also scattered half of his face. After his attempt failed, Monday managed to keep "Firstari", and started searching for the others two books to achieve his goal and also one who possesses the "Gift" since he has lost his eye to open the "Door".

Friday Monday apparently is responsible for the plane crash that caused Margaret Burton to be motherless."Madlax", episode 21: Friday Monday's gigantic shadow can be seen at 13:11] He appears to possesses a mystical power that can change and control others' memories; throughout the series, his two only victims are Margaret Burton"Madlax", episode 4: The Moré case] and detective Maclay Marini"Madlax", episode 4: The Moré case]

Role

Friday Monday makes some briefly appearances at the beginning of the series, taunts those who has connection with both Madlax and Margaret. Examples, he erased detective Maclay Marini's identity; he revealed to the young Chris Krana that he was actually died in 1999; he repeatedly thwarted Vanessa's plan to hack into "Enfant"'s computer systems and used his influence to track her down.

The first time he heard the word "Madlax" since 1999, he began to think that she would lead him to the other books, so he abducted both Madlax and Vanessa and force her to tell him "Secondari"'s location though she disappointed him. When Margaret gathers two books, Carrossea betrays him and take advance on "Firstari".

After their ritual, Friday Monday appears and recovers "Firstari" as well as abducts Margaret. He began to use his supernatural power on her, making her to believe that he is her own father. Monday appears briefly to taunt Vanessa and Elenore who he also uses the "Word of Awakening" on them. He encounters Madlax the second after the death of Elenore which makes Margaret to shoot her down, and he purposely collected Secondari's missing page.

Having collected the three Holy Books, Monday and Margaret begin to open the Door. During the ritual, he again finally plunge the world into the global war while Margaret's memories return. Madlax appears, and fused in one united figure with Margaret. Friday then enduces her to continue progressing the powers of the Books , but due to deaths of her beloved, Margaret shoots him instead; this makes Friday returns to his HQ instantly. The moment he returns, Madlax reappears and attacks him. Despite using a small armed Gazth-Sonikan army and even managed to injure her, Friday Monday still met his end. Apparently, the three books were burnt along with him, whether they remain or not is unknown.

Last word (before he gets shot): "Is..is this the true nature? The thing that i wished for? Is that kind of thing the truth"."; (as he tries to grab the books): "What is seek is...my...there, in front of me...there are lies. There is inveracity. Why can't i see it, why didn't i try to understand the truth. Now...here...have"."
