"I Am What I Am" is a song by Mark Owen, released as the third and final single from his debut album "Green Man", unlike the previous two singles which were both top 10 hits, this track peaked at a disappointing #29.The single was released 8 months after "Clementine" which may have been the reason for its low charting position, however reports surfaced of a struggle between Mark and BMG, as the third single was originally scheduled to be either "Secondhand Wonderland" or "Ask Him To", with "I Am What I Am" to be the released as the fourth or fifth single from the album.
After the release of the single Mark was dropped from the label.
