Lithium Technology Corporation (LTC) is a developer and manufacturer of large format rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and a provider of power solutions that utilize lithium-ion technology.
LTC has over twenty years experience in hi-power and large format battery assemblies. The company recently launched its new product line of high density lithium iron phosphate cells, the largest cells of their kind. LTC's primary markets are military and security, transportation and stationary power. The company is headquartered in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania; R&D is in Nordhausen, Germany. Both locations serve as company sales offices.
Plug-in vehicles
A Smart Forfour has been converted into a plug-in hybrid by Lithium Technology Corporation and Zytek Systems. The lithium-ion battery can propel the vehicle up to mph|84 and last on its own for up to mile|20. The engine is a combination of a 68 horsepower, 1.5 liter, 3-cylinder turbo charged diesel engine and two high-efficiency permanent-magnet electric motors.
