Kimo Leopoldo (born January 5, 1968 in Dili, East Timor) is a mixed martial artist, often billed as simply Kimo. He made his MMA debut at "UFC 3" in 1994, and holds notable wins over Patrick Smith, Kazushi Sakuraba, and David "Tank" Abbott.

Kimo's fighting style has been described as "freestyle", with a mixture of boxing and grappling techniques. He was erroneously credited with a black belt in Taekwondo in his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at "UFC 3" (he later admitted to lying in order to be granted the opportunity to fight).Fact|date=May 2008 Kimo is well known for his Christian beliefs: he sports many religious tattoos, and entered the arena at UFC 3 carrying a large cross on his back. MMA career

In "UFC 3", he lost to "UFC 1" and "UFC 2" champion Royce Gracie but succeeded in wearing down the smaller fighter, causing Gracie to forfeit his next match. Kimo returned at "UFC 8" and fought Ken Shamrock, losing by knee bar early in the fight.

Kimo would then go on to victories over Paul Varelans, professional wrestler Bam Bam Bigelow, Brian Johnston, and future PRIDE star Kazushi Sakuraba. Returning to the UFC at , Kimo would lose a decision to Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, and did not fight again for four years.

After a warm up fight against Tim Lajcik in the WFA in 2002, Kimo again returned to the UFC at "UFC 43", where he quickly defeated David "Tank" Abbott by arm triangle choke. Kimo went on to fight in the main event of "UFC 48", where rematched MMA veteran Ken Shamrock. Kimo was knocked out in the first round from a knee to the head.

In July, 2006, Leopoldo was slated to fight former UFC heavyweight champion and King of Pancrase Bas Rutten in the World Fighting Alliance. Two days before the match was scheduled to take place, Kimo tested positive for the banned substance Stanozolol, a form of anabolic steroids.
