The .375 Dakota cartridge was created by Don Allen, the founder of Dakota Arms in Sturgis, South Dakota. It is based on the .404 Jeffery cartridge that has been shortened to fit standard length actions (.30-06). Factory ammunition is loaded by Dakota Arms.
