List of localities in Nagpur

Nagpur is the largest city in central India (2001 Census) and second capital of the state of Maharashtra. Below is the list of localities in Nagpur.

North Nagpur

*The Civil Lines contains most of the government offices and residences in Nagpur including the Bombay High Court bench and the Vidhan Bhavan. The area is noted for its greenery,roads and cleanliness.
*Seminary Hills is home to educational institutes like SFS College, LAD, KV, Center Point school and offices like Air Force, CGO Complex, TV Tower. For entertainment there is Joggers Park, Deer Park, Toy Train, swimming pools etc.
*Gorewada road wide road ,posh bungalows, international level Zoo is coming up metropolitan society. Gorewada Water Tank is the source of drinking water to parts of Nagpur.
*Jafar Nagar is a posh Muslim-dominated locality. Highly qualified civil servants, educationaists and NRIs live in this area.
*Ahbab Colony is one of the largest sub-urban localities. It is adjoining to the Police Line apartments behind the Police HQ.
*Anant Nagar lies on the Link Road connecting the NH7 and Amravati Road. Its one of the fastest growing suburb of North Nagpur. Famous Dinshaws' old Ice-cream factory lies in this locality. Pandey Layout, Rathore layout, Palloti area fall part of Anant Nagar.
*Friends Colony is one of the largest upcoming suburban township on Katol Road. Its a cosmopolitan area with tall buildings and Duplex flats donning the landscape.
*Indora is the place where most of Buddhist people live, it is hub of Dalit activities. This is the entry into Nagpur city from the northern highway from Kamptee. Railway Museum is located near this place.
*Jaripatka is the place where maximum number of sindhi community live.
*Chhaoni is one of the posh localities which include Starky Town, New Colony, Byramji Town. Famous Poonam Chambers Mall is located here. MOIL Headquarters is located here on Katol Road.
*Sadar famous for shopping. Its the most happening place. This is close to Railway Station. Famous locations in Sadar include NIT Building, Karachiwala Mall, Kasturchand Park, SFS school, IT Park, Anjuman Engineering College complex, Govt Polytechnic, Governor's House and Mangalwari Bazar. Dinshaws, Tuli Hotel and many restaurants are here.
*Mecosabagh is located near Kamptee Highway. It is home to the Christian population of Nagpur. It is famous for its Football and Cricket clubs.

East Nagpur

*Wardhaman Nagar is an upscale residential area. This is one of the few places in the city where people from several different communities, speaking different languages live together. Also, this area also has Nagpur's first multiplex 'Inox'
*Kalamna is the one of the largest wholesale markets for oranges and grains in Asia.
*Nandanwan is residential area of East Nagpur.
*Mominpura popularly known as the Chandni Chowk of Nagpur. Small restaurants and hotel are open over night. Famous biryani delicacies can be enjoyed here at ML Canteen, Bartania and many more eating joints. Hajj House is likely to be constructed here. Mayo hospital and Jama Masjid are part of Mominpura.
*Itwari is the wholesale business center of Nagpur. Hardware, cloth, household, wedding saree market of central India. There is huge concentration of Muslim-Bohra community in this area, with their business, residence and religious places.

Central Nagpur

*Mahal is the old part of Nagpur, and is noted for its relatively narrow streets and crowded residential quarters.
* Sitabuldi (commonly referred to as 'buldi', pronounced 'burdi') is the main commercial part of the city. It contains numerous shops of all sizes and the largest wholesale vegetable market in Nagpur. Sitabuldi Main Road is one of the main shopping streets in the area. Also located in Sitabuldi is the Sitabuldi Fort. It is situated on an elevated area. Being under the control of the Indian Army, the fort is only open to the public on two occasions every year -- August 15 (Independence Day) and January 26 (Republic Day). The longest flyover in Nagpur has its origin near Sitabuldi Fort and terminates at Rahate Colony Square, approximately 1.5 kilometers away. The ride offer the upcoming skyline of Nagpur along this road. Famous Haldirams Food Mall located here.
*Dhantoli arguably the most exclusive residential area in Nagpur. Famous for Shopping Malls namely; LandMark Mall, Liberty Mall situated here. West Nagpur

*Surendranagar is one of the areas in the city of Nagpur just having NEERI next to it.
*Dharampeth is noted for a variety of up-scale shops, restaurants, and a retail vegetable market.It also doubles up as an everyday hang-out for the Nagpur youth.One of the major market areas in West Nagpur.
*Gandhinagar is near to Ambazari Lake & also it has many noted Hospiltals ( Such as Wockhardt Hospital,Indira Gandhi Rugnalaya,etc)n. Mostly college guys & gals like to spend time at the CCD ( Cafe Coffee Day). Also, VNIT College CAMPUS is near to Gandhinagar.
*Pawan Bhumi is one of the exclusive areas near the Airport.
*Laxmi Nagar is a posh residential area in West Nagpur.
*Khamla is one of the important residential and market area of West Nagpur.
*Shraddhanand Peth is also a posh residential area in West Nagpur.
*Kannamwar Nagar is the nearest area to Airport and hence facing rapid growth.
*Trimurti Nagar is one of the most peaceful and tranquil areas of Nagpur. It has grown rapidly in the past years and also features the largest police station in the city, "Pratap Nagar Police Station" in terms of the area it covers. The area has almost zero crime rate since many years and all the residents living without any kind of fear whatsoever.
*Ambazari Layout one of posh residential areas, is near Ambazari garden and the locality is surrounded by NIT swimming pool,Dharampeth Science college,Ambazari Lake & Haldirams "Krazy Castle"(water park).

South Nagpur

*Wanjari Nagar is one of the upscale areas of South Nagpur which is mostly residential.
*Medical Square is a place near Government Medical College and Hospital which is a Govt. managed body concerning public health care.
*Untkhana,This place is near by Govt. Medical Collage. This location was historical for Ambedkari Movement, almost republican movement begin from this place. 98% people are Buddhist here.
*Tajabad famous for the shrine of Tajuddin Baba. Muslims, Hindus and people from all walks of life show their respect to this soofi saint.
*Manewada, Besa, Narendra Nagar and Satyam City are suburbs with many new residential projects.
