RAC 124

RAC 124

The RAC 124 was a stimulation drink, in a silver 250ml can, that was designed by both the RAC Foundation and the makers of the drink Sprite to help get tired motorists home safely if they felt sleepy at the wheel. It was intended to give the drinker a 15-30 minute boost at most.

Taste

It was a stronger variant of lemon Sprite, which proved very popular in the UK.

Controversy

Many motorists took it as an apparent cure for fatigue, This was not true, and some drivers crashed as a result of this, but luckly none died. It was later withdrawn since the RAC felt it was unsafe to market a drink this way due to people's misuse of their product.
