Tom Brown's School Days and other roles in films such asThe Adventures of Black Beauty , Simon Turner quickly rose to fame as British teen star thanks to his mentorJonathan King who released his first album in 1973. He appeared on several magazine covers but fame declined by the end of the 1970s. In the 1980s, he released several singles on el records asThe King of Luxembourg , many of them having been given airplay by BBC Radio DJJohn Peel . In 1990 he released an album onCreation Records .In the 1980s Simon Turner started to record film sountracks, most notably for
Derek Jarman 's Caravaggio. He also composed the complete score forWilliam Eggleston in the Real World as well as forDavid Lynch produced film Nadja. Many of his soundtracks were released on CD.He occasionally works as actor. He portrayed Dr. Gilbert in the Oscar nominated movie The End of the Affair.
