Duchess of Lorraine

Duchess of Lorraine

Duchess of Lorraine ("fl." early 13th century) was a trouvère. Two poems are attributed to her in the manuscript "CH-BEsu" MS 389, R1640 and R1995. One of these is found in multiple manuscripts, some of them containing music, "Un petit devant le jour". She is probably the same person as Gertrude of Dagsburg, who was married to Theobald I of Navarre (Thibaut of Lorraine). [Coldwell]
